A unique program designed to promote self-esteem, empathy, concentration, and creativity.

The purpose of this program is to provide enrichment and care for each student. Our activities are designed to supplement their daytime education with techniques that foster the cultivation of the qualities mentioned above. Every day, our students are provided a healthy snack, engage in a group movement exercise, and complete homework under direct supervision. In addition, our students are offered the choice between reading/story-time or arts & crafts. Our teacher-student ratio will not exceed 1 to 6. Phones or screen technology of any kind will not be used during the program, other than in case of emergency. We also offer monthly parent-instructor check-ins to stay updated on each child's progress.

About Lyra
MEET OUR PROGRAM DIRECTOR
In 2007, Lyra began teaching in a Montessori kindergarten classroom while attending Western Connecticut State University for Elementary Education. This experience completely transformed how she viewed and engaged with the role of “teacher”. This method demonstrated how to successfully prepare an environment that facilitates students’ maximum learning potential through giving them permission to explore and interact with it both independently and collectively. Lyra utilizes her diverse educational background to craft the programming for Evercenter’s Ever After School. Her wish is for each student to cultivate a healthy relationship to learning, their community and with themselves. Though she no longer teaches in a traditional education setting, Lyra is committed to remaining a lifelong learner in order to better serve those around her. In 2020, she received a SEE Learning™ certification, a K-12 education program for Social, Emotional, and Ethical learning created by Emory University in collaboration with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Lyra is also an experienced, registered, and certified yoga instructor (E-RYT500). In 2021, Lyra co-founded Diamond Yoga School (Raleigh, NC) and began leading Yoga Alliance-certified teacher trainings. Her wish is to inspire each trainee to dive deeper into their yogic practices and emerge feeling ready to share their knowledge, skill, and passion with others. Her classes blend classical Hatha and Ashtanga sequencing with meditation techniques to inspire the wish to deliberately create the most meaningful life possible for oneself and for others. She has had the honor of teaching in a variety of settings, from local studios and gyms to Forbes 5-Star & Relais & Chateaux resorts and spas.
Lyra received her initial 200-hour certification through Lotus Gardens Yoga School in 2017. In 2021, she completed her 300-hour certification through Tibet House US & Menla’s Vajra Yoga Teacher Training under the tutelage of Padma Shri award-winner Dr. Robert A.F. Thurman, Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, Michele Loew, Richard Freeman, and Mary Taylor. In 2021, Lyra completed Michele Loew's Clear Light Yoga Nidra teacher training and had the pleasure of studying with Dr. Thurman for a second time, participating in his "Vajra Yoga through the Buddha's Three Vehicles" course.
